If when downloading the tracks of a stage you cannot see it on a map, it is because you do not have any application to see maps. So you should download an application to be able to see maps. We recommend Wikiloc or Komoot, but it can be any other.<\/p>

Once you have an application to view maps on your mobile or computer, you must follow these steps:<\/p>

1.- Download the Track of the stage you want.
2.- Then click on \"open file\".
3.- And finally you have to click on \"open with Wikiloc\u201d \u2013 or the name of your application, which when you have downloaded it will automatically appear.<\/p>

It can be stamped at any establishment where you stay (hostel, guesthouse, guest house, hotel) and also at any restaurant where you have eaten or shop where you have shopped.<\/p>

Any commercial stamp works. Preferable if the stamp contains the name of the town (in order to better accredit the passage through this town).<\/p>

Another possibility is to ask for the stamp at the Tourist Offices or Town Halls of the different municipalities.<\/p>

The Indiketes Route is divided into 22 stages of one day each. Therefore, completing the 476 kilometres of the route on foot would take you 22 days. However, you may be in very good physical shape and be able to complete the route in fewer stages. It may also be the case that you want to do it by bike, so you will need much less time.<\/p>

On the other hand, many people tend to do it in two or three sections, taking advantage of different holiday periods. They also take advantage of the weekends to do 2\/3 day trips.<\/p> <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n

The best way to determine your fitness level is to load up your backpack and hit the trail in your home country. Start with a short walk and work your way up to the average mileage you would like to achieve on the route (for most people, this is between 20 and 30 kilometres per day). The most common injuries on this route are blisters (which are painful and can become infected), leg cramps, stress fractures and joint pain. Proper footwear, a light backpack (10 kg or less) and conservative daily distances help protect joints, bones and muscles from injury and fatigue. As a general rule, try to carry a bag that weighs 10% or less of your body weight.<\/p> <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n

On average, each of the stages of the Ruta dels Indiketes doubles the distance of those of Carros de Foc.<\/p>

A distinction must be made between camping and overnight stays. If you wish to pitch a tent at night along the route through the area indicated, it is not necessary to ask for any kind of permit\/authorisation. However, if you wish to camp, i.e. occupy a camping area during daylight hours, you must take into account the area in which you intend to camp, as long as it is not a national park or an integral nature reserve (in which you cannot stay overnight).<\/p>

Free camping is not allowed within 1 km of a population centre, crowded places or a campsite, nor within 100 m of any road.<\/p>

People of all ages can do the Ruta dels Indiketes! The average age of walkers is probably closer to 60 than 20! If you are in generally good health and can walk on uneven surfaces, you will most likely be able to do the Route, or at least most of the stages.<\/p>

While many hikers average 20 to 30 kilometres per day, you can always do shorter stages and take rest days to do the Indiketes at a pace suited to your physical strength, especially in the mountain area. It's a great idea to have a check-up with your doctor before setting out on the trail to be aware of any health problems that may arise later on.<\/p>

On the other hand, the Indiketes route is very versatile and you will find easy, normal or more difficult stages and you can start with the first ones.<\/p> <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n

Carry a whistle that you can use to alert other walkers in an emergency situation. Three shrill whistles is a universal distress symbol.<\/p>

Carrying a mobile phone can help increase confidence in the event of an incident. If you are unfortunate enough to experience any inappropriate behaviour, report the incident to the authorities. There are, however, two stages where there can be some difficulty in finding your way around and on another stage of the trail you have to hold on to metal chains to climb, although there is an alternative route for hikers who feel uncomfortable tackling this section.
